The benefits of a regular yoga practice are undeniable. I believe yoga is accessible to everyone, consequently leading me to the many styles I enjoy teaching. Years of practice, and self-study have led me to my love of yoga, and my openness to the world I encounter daily. Come to your mat, get authentic, and enjoy the effects this energetic, calming and refreshing practice will have on your life, and the world.

My practice takes me to the earth, the mat, around the world and to the intimate places of beauty and grace, and guides me to my truest, most vulnerable self. Yoga encourages me to be strong, positive, kind, and caring. The mat grounds me, provoking me to acknowledge the love that resounds within me - and to SHARE that love, that gratitude, with all my students at iLa.
Yoga helps me tune in, get in shape, and relax. Yoga provides a space to connect with my physical, mental, and emotional body. While creating a since of calmness, my practice helps to balance the demands of everyday life.
I moved from the Wenatchee Valley to Riverside, California in 2001 and began practicing Ashtanga and Yin yoga shortly afterward. I received my 200-hour certification and later, my 500-hour certification at Western Yoga College. I studied Restorative yoga with G.L. Gray in 2003 and love teaching Restorative, Hatha, and Yin classes since my studies then.
My yoga practice is just that: a practice. I am beyond grateful for what this practice has enabled me to do, because without it, I very well might not be in the state of peace that I am today. It brings me great joy to encourage others to find their own unique expression of yoga... with hope that at least one person will be able to connect with them self, the way that I have.
I have been an ardent student and practitioner of Eastern Medicine since 2001. My personal journey and continued studies throughout the years developed my love for meditation and a passion for yoga. All of these sciences are joined and weaved into my style and perspective. My teaching strengthens the body, develops dharina and empowers the higher self in each student.
Yoga for Gabbie has been part of her journey on a new path: spiritually, physically, and mentally. Gabbie sees her teaching style as though she is the guide of information and transmission so that each student has their own experience, finding proper alignment, breathing deeply and flowing like a butterfly with the magical jungle of Nosara around you. I’ve completed my 200 hour teacher training at Hale Pule Ayurveda and Yoga. Blending the ancient philosophies of Yoga and Ayurveda encourages a holistic, balanced practice and over all state of wellness. When we practice consciousness and develop ourselves mentally, physically, and spiritually, we contribute to the growth of others. This is why I teach; to grow and to cultivate growth.
I love yoga. A constant practice. Never perfect, never anything less than perfect. I love yoga when I’m stiff and when I’m flexy. I love yoga when I’m joyful and even when I’m not. And yoga always loves me back. I love that yoga connects me to my breath, to myself, to the moment, and to a community. And the other thing I love about yoga? Sharing it.
I began practicing yoga hoping find pain relief and realized my first class that yoga is much more than a physical exercise. A few years ago I started to incorporate more yoga in my life and I started to realize I felt more alive. Yoga allows me to let go just enough to connect with myself and my surroundings, my mind, body, and soul. Once it was clear to me how beautifully life changing yoga can be I knew I wanted to share it with everyone.
Yoga found me in 2003, from a discussion with a stranger who practiced yoga then taught me about meditation. Since then my life’s path has lead me to the relevance of yogic philosophy & the breath which is explored every day at iLa. With my administrative experience & personal enjoyment for serving a business I believe in, I am delighted to be in a position of support to iLa teachers & students.
What keeps me coming back to my mat is connection with breath, this community, and the presence that comes through intentionally sharing this practice together.
I began practicing yoga my early 30’s, and found my path to sharing yoga to others in my 50’s. With a focus on making yoga accessible and enjoyable to everyone; student safety and comfort are my highest priorities. I feel strongly that the yoga postures should fit the individual student rather that requiring a student to fit the posture.
Being born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska gave me an appreciation for the outdoors and nature. I love rock climbing, hiking with my pup, cooking and practicing yoga. Yoga came into my life in 2010. It was a means to stay in shape in the off-season, but yoga didn’t just become my work out, it became my work-in. Yoga became my connection to myself, to the world around me and to my own happiness.
A native to the PNW with a BFA in painting and drawing, my yoga trek began while I was studying in Samos, Greece, learning the connections of body movement and fine art. Through my eyes, art and yoga are everywhere. Like two lenses to view and soften the world. My practices keep me as a constant observer, seeking within the environment and people natural laws that define positive growth.
Yoga moves me to a deeper understanding of the gift of being alive. A practice of patience, self love, gratitude and inspiration, yoga is medicine for the mind, body, spirit, and the collective human race. As we integrate the insights of our yoga practice within, we in turn spread that through our actions in day to day life; inspiring others to move towards a higher adoration for being alive.
